Words Have Wings - Aug 2026
Can we get enough of August? The golden month is full of surprises with a energising Grand Air Trine, three Kites for focus, two Eclipses and Venus entering the shadow zone of her upcoming retrograde.
6th August: Venus Ingress Libra & Leo Sun Trine Saturn Rx @ 14’
The planets are giving us the energy, reason and platform to speak from the heart in August as the air signs are whipping up a creative storm and our words will have wings. On 6th, Venus, the planet of love, art and money, steps into her home sign of Libra to emphasise how we might spread our joy and good will everywhere. Immediately on entering the love sign Libra, she becomes the starring role in a Grand Air Trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. These three planets in three air signs are in communicado; all lines are connected and the air fills with excitement, joy, news, brilliant ideas and maybe a little chaos. A kind of chaotic charge that blows everything into a new position as unexpected, mystical events play out. Mary Poppins appears on an easterly breeze, ready to take us on a magical (but super interesting) journey we cannot refuse.
9th, 10th & 11th August: Planetary Ingress Lead To Eclipse
Talking of ‘in communicado’ Mercury the planet of connections enters Leo on 9th and this emphasises how important our words are, especially when it is eclipse season with a Grand Air Trine inspiring, beckoning, whispering on the wire. Mercury in Leo wants you to think big, and to ‘speak what you seek until you see what you said’ as the gods are listening. Mercury remains highly active so keep talking about your dreams, describe them, highlight them, write them out to enhance their chance of them actually happening. Mercury’s opposition to Pluto brings intensity to thinking and a driving force that will bring enemies out of the woodwork, so hold on tight to your favourite position and keep your receipts. If your plans are halted or taken away, know in your heart that something better will take its place. Redirection, not rejection! Lovely Venus then opposes mysterious Neptune on 10th, and this is where the magic happens, or the artifice is revealed - you wonder if you have been kidding yourself as Neptune can be deceptive, but situations are going to change again before you can settle on one thing. On the 11th August, when Mars enters Cancer, an emotional reckoning starts, that may make the past two years’ pain worth it. Mars is on a clean up mission and an emotional detox maybe be required in order to get what you really want. As one door closes, another really will be opening.
12th August: Total Solar Eclipse @ 20’ Leo
The shadow of the Total Solar Eclipse will be moving fast across Spain and just like when the shadow crossed America, we know Spain will be in the spotlight - and already is (apart from winning the World Cup, don’t expect the mainstream media to cover it). This Solar Eclipse is on the South Node in Leo and will therefore bring up affairs of the heart from the past. Not just broken hearts and romance, but times when you were not true to your own heart’s knowing, or gave away your energy by not being true to yourself. This eclipse encourages you to look back at those times of self abandonment, that developed into a character trait rather than a one off survival tactic, to activate deep healing at a soul level and thereby improve your future. A crown of approval or validation awaits for those who take this lesson bravely, or is that ‘brazenly’? Check where this eclipse falls in your chart at 20’ Leo for a major upgrade there. 15th August: Mercury Conjunct Jupiter @ 10’ Leo
We’ve already been reminded how words will be important as Mercury enters Leo and opposes Pluto, but when Mercury joins Jupiter, great tidings are due, perhaps even a promotion. You will be glad you stood your ground and covered your back. Leo loves to elevate and Mercury here with Jupiter are the movers and shakers of the solar system, putting you in the drivers seat if you have planets or angles around 10’ Leo. This is a glow-up and all you have to do is show up with a good heart - extra points for any added pizazz or drama. Mercury with Jupiter in Leo is a reminder that authenticity is a higher frequency than love, and the planets are helping us all reach full sovereignty.
17th August: Cancer Mars Square Aries Neptune @ 3’ & then Libra Venus @ 4’
Whilst Leo season is dolling out the favours and blessings, we have three Kite aspects (as part of the Grand Air Trine) pointing us towards Leo, Aries and Gemini and this drives our media to demonstrate major hype and distraction but is also incredibly creative. It’s like living through a Pandora’s Box of news, ideas and information, so we really do have to sift through the melée to get to ‘our’ truth, and to decide our position, our heart centre. At the same time Mars in Cancer is making a t-square, so the emotional reckoning continues - you may learn your truth from new sources our experiences. Do not be surprised if you are finally forced to swap sides or drastically change your stance and find yourself breaking away from solid situations or old habits.
22nd August: Sun Conjunct South Node @ 29’ Leo
As the Sun comes to the end of Leo, she connects with the South Node, and this repeats and emphasises the eclipse energy again, bringing up past versions of ourselves that now need refreshing. As they meet on the last degree of Leo, we could be forced to repeat a situation but this time we have to respond with our heart sense, even if that means walking away with our head held high. At the very least, we should ensure that we are getting the recognition we deserve AND to end the charade of people pleasing and over-compromise in any scenario.
23rd & 25th: Sun then Mercury Ingress Virgo
The shift of the Sun and then Mercury into Virgo is a sobering week, where we come back to down-to-earth and to ordinary 3D reality with a bang. After the drama of the eclipse, Virgo’s cool head makes way for due diligence on the details and perhaps some accountability is required to get the growth that Leo season promised. Looking at the details, writing out your ideas, checking back over receipts, are all good ways to use this energy, and gain some traction, instead of complaining. This is a sudden change of tune to more serious concerns that need addressing, but any Virgo style completion of duties will pay off in the long run, when they save your skin during the upcoming Autumn retrogrades.
28th August: Partial Lunar Eclipse @ 4’ Pisces @ 05:12 BST
As eclipses move in pairs, on the 28th August the lunar eclipse on the North Node opens a door we hadn’t considered, but will recognise since this is at 4 degrees, an active point of late. When we pass this eclipse juncture, we are moving into pioneer territory as Pisces again, draws us to the dream world and spiritual possibilities. This is the last eclipse in Pisces for nine years, and with that we say goodbye to its mystical and spiritual themes, but perhaps there is a last chance to connect to your deeper spiritual voice. The Moon’s nodes are at 29’ and again there is a finality which matches Pisces ability to feel very deeply, but also let go. So here at this Moon any spiritual bypassing tendencies are emphasised where ‘love and light’ becomes a stance of avoidance, but in reality we have to go to the darkness to find our spiritual light. This Lunar Eclipse is perfectly situated to help humans understand one extreme of avoidance against the other of over reacting emotionally. It is highly charged for emotional reactions, but we are given a choice here to look at what are emotions are telling us and the wisdom it provides will keep us in good stead for the next nine years.
30th August: Venus Enters Shadow Zone @ 22’ Libra
It is Virgo season and you will be glad you took notes at the beginning of Virgo’s more exacting and discerning energies. On the 30th Of August, Venus enters the shadow zone of her forth coming retrograde. This shadow starts smoothly enough since it is in Libra, but after so much Pisces emotional wisdom and Leo heart truth, stepping into this shadow zone might well bring a new revelation: the one lie we tell ourselves to keep our ship afloat, and that is about to come undone or be realised in a powerful way. And whilst this could be upsetting, it has the potential for the deep healing of the heart AND the sacral that Venus retrograding in both Libra and Scorpio will generously emphasise.
