Karmic Ex - Oct 2026

October is all about Venus Retrograde in Scorpio: the temptress descends to the underworld to find out what is stuck and needs transforming.  She has to reevaluate situations to dead off those that don’t pay, and tend to those that have the potential to blossom, even in a month with five planets in retrograde.

3rd October: Venus Retrograde @ 8’ Scorpio

The temptress, or feminine sexual power (think of it what you will), has been suppressed and shunned in our world for eons.  So when Venus retrogrades in Scorpio, we get to see what happens to the oppressed collective, as well as our own personal shadow.  Deep shame is buried here along with dark misgivings and of course this attracts other entities, as like attracts like.  Venus does have a soothing balm for the soul pain during this retrograde and it starts today.  With this comfort in mind, there is no point in shunning uncomfortable evidence as it re-emerges, either as an ex lover or reminder of an unhappy situation. This is the juice for growth and understanding.  Don’t let your inner world hide away and fester.  Bring out your dead.

3rd October: Mars in Leo Opposes Pluto In Aquarius @ 3’

As Venus stations retrograde, she is square to both Mars her partner, and Pluto, the dark Lord of the Underworld, and ruler of the sign she is in, which imprints a darker, more strident flavour on her retrograde.  Mars and Pluto are in opposition and forcing some kind of ultimatum; action is required.  It asks you to notice where your actions are taking you, and do they align with your soul mission.  Can you sustain what you are creating?  Karmic questions or situations arise, which you will notice by their otherworldly or strangely coincidental appearance.  But nothing happens by coincidence, right?

6th & 7th October: Mercury Conjunct Venus Rx @ 8’ Scorpio

Whilst we are looking intently into strange, hidden or painful places that have recently risen to awareness, Mercury enters the fray, perhaps delivering the coup de grace required to make the decision, to confirm a point, perhaps a strategy, so that the whole Venus retrograde period, until 13th November doesn’t unravel too many threads.  This is a good time to repair relationships that matter to you, reconsider your emotional and financial needs, review your commitments and invest in those you love.  Revalue your heart and be brutally honest with yourself.

10th October: New Moon @ 17’ Libra

Venus Retrogrades are known for hosting the re-emergence of ex lovers, and here at this Libra New Moon, do not be surprised at the entrance, stage left, of someone, or a situation repeated from your past loves.  This New Moon is in opposition to Saturn, so there will be karmic overtures yet again - which sets up a duality, whereby the suppressed ideals, romantic hopes are met with a serious conclusion or a new beginning.  The beauty of Libra can come forth and allow a flourish of emotional confidence set against this backdrop of karmic undercurrents.  What did that person teach you about your own value and values - can you see that you don’t have to abandon your ideas in order to be validated and partnered.

16th October: Pluto Direct @ 3’ Aquarius

Pluto stations direct on 16th, which means that imperceptibly, these currents can switch, something changes in the ether, and most will not feel the turning of the tides among the collective, which is about to gather stretch and a rebellious nature.  If you have self-abandoned, this is the moment you realise your own true north was a better option.

21st & 25th October: Libra Sun & then Libra Venus Retrograde Opposes Chiron @ 28’ Aries

The Sun will oppose Chiron on 21st October, a reminder to hold fast to your higher ideals, your own growth and healing, and not to replay the lower frequency squabble of the past so blindly.  Venus in retrograde will also oppose Chiron on 25th October, so these two oppositions will highlight our need to be aware of what we are creating via our inner thoughts, especially when unexpressed.  Place your truth before the thoughts and ideas of those around you in the most harmonious way you can.

23rd October & 24th October: Sun Ingress Scorpio, Venus Cazimi @ 0’ Scorpio & Mercury Retrograde @ 20’ Scorpio

Something is rotten in the state Denmark (the world), and it has the opportunity to rear its ugly head on this day of Scorpio Venus Cazimi.  This is like discovering that the government have another agenda, they want everlasting wars, for continued sickness, for individual expression destroyed.  Waking up to realisations that the world is not what you thought takes courage.  Yet your attitude creates this brave new world, with new rules, and Venus is now the Morning Star and this makes her ready for war, or is that a sign that she is taking up our cause to fight for love and truth.  Say ‘yes’ to what you want, but be prepared to stand and deliver.

25th October: Venus Retrograde Ingress Libra, Opposes Chiron @ 28’

Venus, now back in Libra - even as the Morning Star, the Goddess of War - does emphasise the need for harmony and how we might generate more courteous and favourable conditions, when everyone is battling such hardship.  The glorious beauty of the recent Libra New Moon needs further emphasis now that Venus is in Libra: emphasising the need to create the space for camaraderie and sweetness amongst your relations, even when they disagree or disturb the peace.  Your generosity of kindness gives you the master stroke of love power to lead and inspire.

26th October: Full Moon @ 2’ Taurus

Holding that harmony and grace whilst all about you is losing theirs, is a skill you will be glad of, especially at the Full Moon in Taurus on 26th.  This Full Moon is holds a special place of value and comforts, when the Scorpio aspects are perhaps looking at pain and loss.  Taurus wants us to be creative, to make our own wealth, and this is a good time to ask for a promotion, or make an investment, even though traditionally you would not make a major financial move when Venus is retrograde.  Wealth and how we feel about our own abundant flow is crucial to a financial flourishing.  Remember to not start anything new, but to repair, reconsider, review, reinvest and recommit.

31st October:

Be the good witch at Halloween.  It is so easy to enjoy the ghostly spectres, and evil spooks, but seriously considering how everything carries energy is a very Scorpionic lesson. Communing with your ancestors and healing family lines of pain, poverty and shame are a much healthier way to meet the ‘day of the living dead’.
