Tectonic Shifts - May 2025

Pluto is the power player for May, holding fort in many aspects, lending his power, but also ensuring we understand that deep and utter transformation is required.

2nd MAY: Venus Conjunct Neptune @ 1’ Aries

We are in brand new territory with Neptune newly in Aries, and now that Venus arrives here, we can easily dissolve the difficulties we imagine surround us and attract something beautiful just by visualisation techniques. Venus here wants us to create an idealised vision for ourselves, and since she is in Aries, she then wants you to take action and do something that feeds your dreams.  Be inspired…be inspiring.  Neptune brings the magic in this pairing, so who knows where we might find ourselves by working towards what we love and find beautiful.

4th May: Pluto Stations Retrograde @ 3’ Aquarius

You may notice a shadow being cast over your projects or ideas as Pluto retrogrades on the 4th May, where he activates hidden karmic processes.  Or you may not notice the shadow at all.  Either way, something has stirred and your understanding of your current reality will need revisiting.  Something is about to be revealed and you want to be ready with the wisdom drop; wise words which are bound to place you in good stead amongst your peer group and beyond.

12th May: Scorpio Full Moon

Staying with this energy of deeper stirrings, we move to the second halloween of the year, the Scorpio Full Moon, where the veil is thin, and the elemental forces rise to great us.  Pluto rules Scorpio, and coming eight days after his retrograde, this Scorpio Full Moon is inviting us to realise what is not being said, or what has not been revealed.  Get wise to the ways of others, for they often don’t reveal their truth until it is too late, and here with two Pluto events, one after the other, we need all our wits about us for the changes to come.

Mars is in a square to this Moon forcing us to stand up and be counted, where our natural instincts would be to hide.  And Uranus is in opposition, demanding that we tune into these darker whisperings and take note.  The deeper fabric of our lives is being pulled apart, the tectonic plates are shifting, and what appears in its wake, needs our full attention, and a little nerve.  Our consciousness is expanding with Pluto in Aquarius, and the reason why we feel we haven’t fitted into whatever part of society is becoming obvious as the future opens up before us and we see our part in how it pans out.

18th May: Sun Conjunct Uranus @ 26’ Taurus

We know anything that involves Uranus means dynamic change and surprises, and the Sun with Uranus increases the chances of something crazy or unexpected to happen.  These are the last days of Uranus in Taurus, where the God of Lightning has made us fully aware how Mother Earth’s riches are being plundered, and maybe we can consider the same for ourselves at this time.  Looking at where to put our best resources, which activities are pointless, and how to make the most of any prospects would be a better way to address any change of plan or shock events.

20th May: Sun Ingress Gemini

The Sun enters Gemini two days later, and this will lighten the mood.  Change is inevitable with the quick witted and tricky Gemini, and if you don’t like what happens, wait a day or so, and something new is sure to arrive.  There will be complexities to unpick and as the Sun makes a trine to Pluto Retrograde on 24th May, our depth of understanding increases, lending confidence and assurance where it is much needed.  There are countless opportunities unravelling as changes take place, and we don’t want to miss them.

25th May: Saturn Ingress Aries

Saturn now joins Neptune in Aries where they both try to force their opposing energies on mankind, represented by Aries.  Neptune is dissolving the boundaries or our reality, yet opening up magical ideas.  Saturn wants steady security and to build.  As the two are going to meet here again next year too, we have plenty of time to start working on some wildly imaginative plans, that Saturn can help us create for the long term.  We may have had to put up with choices and situations not to our liking of late, but here is a chance to pull events back to our dreams and desires.

27th May: New Moon @ 6’ Gemini Conjunct Mercury @ 3’, Trine Pluto

Are we ready for the coming new world?  The New Moon in Gemini is not just a little taster of the power of ai, but our own intuitive senses will be sensitised under the auspices of Pluto in Aquarius.  This Gemini lunation, conjunct its fast thinking ruler, and trine the power player Pluto, will allow us to demonstrate our wit and wisdom beyond the help of a machine.  This day is well starred for projects that are designed to help the world, and any work you do that connects you to a wider audience.  Naming your new company or opening the first page of a document will pay dividends, even if you don’t continue for a while, it has this exciting Gemini energy behind it that will keep delivering thoughtful benefits and interesting ideas.
